Things You SHould Know

Love Trying New Things

Our Off The Menu events allow chefs to make authentic, regional food without any compromises for local tastes. These events are intended for people who like to try new things and are willing to be a little adventurous. As an adventurous diner with a penchant for new tastes, and a respect for those who bring their creations to life, we know that you will understand that there will be no substitutions or alternative dishes provided. You can always choose to pass on a dish, but we encourage you to at least give everything a taste! Our chef partners wouldn't serve it to you if they didn't think it was tasty.

Allergies and Intolerances

Because we want to allow our chef partners to create without limits, we cannot adjust food for allergies or intolerances. If this is a concern for you, please read the menu carefully before buying a ticket. The menu will list the items in detail, including if there is seafood, gluten, nuts, dairy or eggs. If you have any specific concerns regarding foods that may be on the menu, please contact us before buying tickets.  The dishes are meant to be served as they would be eaten in their own country and authenticity requires being true to those traditions. culinaryslut@gmail.com

No Backsies

We know that you appreciate that the restaurant is creating a special meal just for this event, including advance purchases of specialty ingredients that normally are not part of their pantry. Because of that please keep in mind that we cannot issue a refund once a ticket is sold.

Get Social!

If you’re checking us out we’re pretty sure that you share our belief that food is a great way to meet new people and make new friends. That’s why this event will be open seating with an eye to fostering a social environment. You’ll have a chance to meet new people who love food as much as you do! There will be no private or pre-arranged seating provided.

Gotta Pay For Booze

The price of the ticket includes unlimited alcohol-free beverages such as tea, pop, and juice. We also understand that many cuisines have grown up hand in hand with specific alcohol pairings. We encourage you to enjoy alcoholic beverages, like wine and beer, responsibly as part of your dinner. However, please note that alcoholic beverages are not included in price of the ticket (unless otherwise noted). We just ask that you pay your bar tab at the end of your meal. And please do make sure that you arrange for a safe ride home after the fun!

No Substitutions or Alternatives

We know we’ve covered this, but it’s so important we think its worth repeating. The menu is set, and there will be no substitute dishes or alternatives provided. If this is a concern please consider waiting until the menu is published before purchasing a ticket.

About Culinary Slut

We are not professional chefs, nor are we professional food reviewers. We are, however, food obsessed. Food is more than fuel; it is tradition, history, family, celebration. It brings us together, it reflects the world we live in and where we came from. In many ways, food defines communities and our cultures. It can be creative, joyful and comforting. Food is life.

We come from humble backgrounds and that allows us to appreciate humble noshing; at the same time
, we have achieved some small measure of success that allows us to travel and gives us access to culinary artistry. We both come from cultures where food is central to community and family and is symbolic of friendship.

You will not find negative reviews on Culinary Slut. While we may poke fun at times, it is as much at ourselves for risking food that we know is not haute cuisine as it is at the food itself.  If we don't like something, we just don't post about it. Instead, we’re here to have fun and share our wonderful experiences with you.
